We design and build our gardens, seeing the project thru from the first consult until completion......often times many years after. The relationship with our clients grows thru sharing ideas and creating magic. Being able to have a direct communication with the designer/builder and her crew allows for decisions and changes to be made directly and not get lost in translation.
Geri Elfman, designer/builder, a native of Chicago, her earliest memories was time spent in the lush greenery of the greenhouse. After a professional ballet career and motherhood, it felt natural to come back to the garden. Choreographing all the elements involved in a garden is a dynamic process filled with movement, substance and peacefulness.
Formal study includes an associate’s degree in horticulture and design from Pierce College and further classes at UCLA with Bob Perry. With 17 years of hands-on experience, she is also a licensed contractor and member of APLD.
"I was fortunate early on to meet with my team of Stone builders. The use of dry-stacked walls, boulders and artful masonry gives the garden its’ bones. We have been together since the beginning. They're always ready for a challenge and take great pride in the outcome."
"Having always been conscientious of water needs I have made use of dry river beds and the placement of boulders to tuck plants in and around to assist in retaining water where it is most needed."
We have been incorporating many vegetable gardens in our gardens. Inventive walls of edible vines, espaliered fruit trees and raised beds. Herbs can be used as border and edging plants. It always brings a smile to walk thru the garden and see all the activity going on and reap the benefits!
